Throughout my childhood I was in and out of church. I was fortunate enough to know of God, but I did not know Him personally. It was not until August 2023 that I found salvation in Jesus Christ. Throughout middle school I faced hardships with family, as well as moving schools a lot. This led me to feel lonely at times and ultimately led me to believe my identity was found in things like sports, school, and relationships. This carried over into high school where I was consumed by my activities and relationships. For years I struggled with partying, sexual sin, and intrusive thoughts. This led to me being severely depressed, anxious, and feeling hopeless. Eventually I hit a breaking point in my life, and I knew I needed to make some drastic changes. Deep down I knew Jesus was patiently waiting for me to turn to Him, but I was still skeptical at that point. I told my counselor the struggles I was facing and she encouraged me to go back to church and find community. Around this time I had truly placed my faith in Jesus. Jesus Christ died for our sins and now through Him we can experience His eternal love.  Since I have given my heart to Christ the changes in my life have been abundant in such a small amount of time.  Once I was willing to give up worldly things, I made room in my heart to trust in Jesus. The things I desired before have been replaced with desires to pursue the Lord. The Lord has placed people in my life to encourage and support me in my faith. The Lord declares my identity and purpose everyday. My life is forever changed because of His grace.
